Sorry I'm late folks. We had my mother here for Christmas and yesterday we took her to my brother's for the holiday handoff. We visited and didn't get home until late last night.

Dear John: When I opened the door today there were actually six geese laying on my front steps. So you're back to the birds again, huh? These geese are huge. Where will I ever keep them? The neighbors are complaining and I can't sleep through the racket. Please stop.

Bruce,
Thanks for the visit. I had just finished writing that last blog within minutes of your posting, actually, I was doing some editing, so I hope you got the edited version. You always find those obvious boo-boo's AFTER you press the submit button.
Rock on with the Irish Wakes, I am Irish too, see how sad that is!!!
Ok, I'll take the geese, yes they are loud and make a mess, but I got a neighbor that I owe a few thoughtful favors to. ;)
MI, no worries on the boo-boos. No matter how many times I proof read I seem to find them all after it's been posted.
I was touched by your blog post. Given the subject of your post and being Irish you will especially appreciate this. About 3 years ago my wife and I took our kids to Ireland for two weeks. First time there, we'd been dreaming about it for years. Had a WONDERFUL trip. We got home and while driving from the airport my wife called my parents to let them know we had landed safely, she briefly talked to my dad and joked around with him. We got home, exhausted, and fell into bed. At 2AM the phone rings and it's my aunt telling me that my dad had a major stroke and I had to get there (from FL to DE) ASAP. I got there the next afternoon, just after he passed away. You just never know.
OMG Bruce, you so rock. I just read your stupid is and stupid does post and you speak truth! My parents (yes, unfortunately, they are still my parents) were fire safety instructors, emt's and fire fighters for years when I was younger. It was AMAZING to hear the stories of pure stupidity. It was also sad to hear of other stupidity harming innocent folks. I think we are doing it wrong. If yo don't want someone to touch the live electrical wire, don't hang a sign that says "don't touch, electrical shock" that guarantees someone will. Hang a sign that says "Touch this, electric shock, feels good!"
Thanks MI! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, safety is an interesting profession. Once you do everything you can to make the workplace and the processes safe then the only thing you have left is working on human behavior. You can imagine how effective that is.
I'm glad you stumbled in, it'll be nice having you around. Thanks for the link on your blog.
John is trying to stop anyone else getting to Agnes - Geese are better than guard dogs. Mind you, if they're laying on her doorstep, she'll have egg yolk and white making it all slippy.
I'm taking this all too literally, aren't I? *blush* x
